Here’s a sweet story sent to us by Denise:
Jerry and Denise had always talked about getting married, and knew right away that they were meant for each other. The relationship blossomed fast, but faced so many ups-and-downs along the way. Since Jerry has been working two jobs, they hardly get “quality time” together. So, most of our Friday nights or weekend nights, we spend at the the beach in our community (Iroquois Point), just watching the sun set and listening to the waves crashing….relaxing together.
On this particular night, he worked late and told her that he was really stressed from the week, and if they could go hang out at the beach when he got home from work. Without Denise knowing, Jerry had picked up the ring earlier that day, and called her parents to ask for her hand in marriage before returning home. They happily accepted, and waited for the “good news” call.
Jerry came home and showered, and then received a call for his work. Denise was getting really antsy already, as she wanted to go sit on the beach and relax after a long week! As they approached the cabanas at the beach, they realized that it started raining and ALL the cabanas were taken, which NEVER happens when we go…Denise told him “we’ll just sit in the car and it didnt matter”, but he kept insisting they find a cabana with chairs and a table. They finally found one that was open, and was the one they usually went to.
They sat there listening to music, and eating chicken from the KFC bucket. Denise got up to change the radio station. When she sat back down, she sat on something that was big and bulky and said “ow!” She took it out and it was a small black box. She started to get nervous, so she handed the box back to Jerry, not knowing what to do…
From there, he got down on one knee, nervous and all, and proposed….
